These photos are from the Prokudin-Gorskii Collection in the Library of Congress. They were taken in Russia from 1905-1915. You can read more about Prokudin-Gorskii and his process here.

Edit…. I showed these to my pal Eric and mentioned how meticulous the piles and lengths of firewood was in that one photo. He said, ” That was before they had TV”. Excellent observation, to which I can only reply, True Dat!
